Using with Claude Desktop

Pond can connect with any type of MCP client. Claude Desktop is a popular one which we'll use here.

1. Prerequisites​

  1. Install Claude Desktop if you don't already have it
  2. Install Pond

2. Add Claude Desktop to Pond​

  1. In Pond, click "Connect a new app"
  2. Select "Claude Desktop" from the list
  3. Pond will generate a configuration snippet with your unique access token

3. Configure Claude Desktop​

  1. Copy the MCP configuration snippet provided by Pond (don't share this token with anyone!)
  2. Open your Claude Desktop MCP config file (usually at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json)
  3. Add the Pond configuration to your MCP servers section

4. Start Using Pond with Claude​

  1. Open or relaunch Claude Desktop (you need to do this whenever the config file is changed)
  2. Try asking Claude about your messages, documents, or other connected data sources!

Your personal data stays on your device while Claude can access it securely through Pond's MCP server.
